Dear Music Enthusiast,
Summer time is coming and so is the BAMM Festival. Yes, we are planning for another great outdoor music festival to take place at Ski Cloudcroft this June 15th -17th. Because of great sponsors and awesome music we have been successful two years now and we are happy tell you that there will be a third festival and that this will be an annual event.
The first year we were able to attract over 400 people, last year we had over 500, this year we’re shooting for 700 people! We will have live music Friday night and all day Saturday, camping both nights, the ski lift will run Saturday for hiking and down-hill mountain biking, bon-fires will light the night and a tasty variety of foods and refreshments will be available throughout the weekend. We have invited many local musicians to join us, all from the Land of Enchantment, and will be attracting spectators from all over!
Advertising is key for an event like this, and as we all know, it is also the most costly expense for such an event. This year we want to get the word out as soon as we can so people can include it in their plans for Summer time. Our goal is to raise $6,000 to be used for advertising, venue set up, and band payment. Any amount you can share will be put to good use. We have set up a tiered Sponsorship program for you to choose from. By participating, your business/organization will benefit from extended exposure through promotional efforts by BAMM.
We thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to whatever support you can provide and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please send all sponsorship donations to the above address or feel free to drop it off at High Altitude in Cloudcroft. Again, we thank you for your support and look forward to putting on another amazing music festival!
Sincerely,
BAMM

We’ve done it again, another music festival scheduled for our neck of the woods! 2nd Annual Bad Ass Mountain Music Festival (BAMM) will be held out at Ski Cloudcroft on Father’s Day Weekend, June 17-19, 2011. There will be tons of great local music, downhill mountain biking, hiking, camping, and a variety of foods and refreshments sure to please everyone.
Get your festival weekend started on Friday June 17th at 4:00pm by setting up your camp in one of the many designated camping zones. Live music will be starting around 6:00pm showcasing several Cloudcroft musicians and Nuevo Sol of Las Cruces, followed with a bonfire, Fire Danger permitting. This is just your warm-up for what’s to come…
Saturday, June 18th will start around 10:00am with breakfast at your camp! If you’re not prepared to cook, you can grab a breakfast burrito from Dave’s Café available at the Ski Chalet. We know we lost the Café in the recent fire but Dave is still here and ready to cook you a big fat breakfast burrito! The chairlift will be running from 10:00am to 4:00pm for mountain biking and hiking. The layout of the ski area provides a natural amphitheater which lends music to all who are playing in the cool, crisp mountains! If you’re looking to just chill and hang out please do so! Bring your lawn chair, some shade, a tube of sunscreen, and a friend and gather round the music starting around 11:00am. Witness the different genres of music as the day progresses. Music will be heard all day and well into the night featuring Boris & the Saltlicks from Santa Fe, Pioneers of Primetime T.V. from La Luz, and Shotgun Party who has played at the Weed Café before and really entertained the crowds. The late night show will be a surprise that you can’t miss so come join the fun. Food vendors will be selling all types of goodies throughout the day for you to munch on, including subs, fry bread, and good ol’ burgers and brats.
Twenty Dollars ($20) is all it takes to get you as much or as little BAMM as you want. A bracelet will be given at the gate that will let you come and go as you please. This killer price gets you 2 days camping, unlimited music, lift privileges for hiking and mountain biking, and endless memories with great friends and family! Children 12 and under get in free. Unfortunately, because of the crowds, pets will need to stay home for this one.
There will be no campfires allowed however you will be allowed to bring a camp-stove/grill for cooking so long as there is something guarding it from the grass and as fire danger permits. Water will be located around the festival for your enjoyment or bottled water can be purchased to keep you hydrated. Please no glass, and if you pack it in, be courteous and pack it out or throw it away. Remember to bring a flashlight to get around after dark, as well as a sweater to keep you warm as you dance under the stars. And finally they ask that you be packed up and departing the Ski Area by 1:00pm on Sunday, June 19th.
BAMM is proud to announce that this years festival will run mostly off of solar energy thanks to Kenny Grigar of Self Reliant Solar located in Austin, TX. Of course this is weather dependant but what a better way to use the sun than for music! The couple just purchased a second home in Timberon and would like to be acquainted with the locals and our events. So stop by at the festival and give them a big Cloudcroft, “Hello!”
Last year was a great success and the BAMM committee expects to see the numbers grow as people want to get out and enjoy the nice summer days in the cool mountains of Cloudcroft. This festival is non-profit and made possible by local businesses and you, the music enthusiast! A BIG Thank You from the BAMM committee!
If you are interested in sponsoring or volunteering for the event please contact Bri at (970) 406-0721. BAMM has set up a tiered Sponsorship program ranging from $25-$300, every little bit helps! By participating, your business/organization will benefit from extended exposure through promotional efforts by BAMM.
